The 2019 series will open March 9th with Jason Petty’s “Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes.” There’s only one Hank William’s and Jason Petty portrays him best. He starred as Hank in New York City’s hit Off Broadway musical, “ Lost Highway”, as well as at Nashville’s world famous Ryman Auditorium. This show is not just a Hank Williams tribute, Jason Petty will tell the story of Hank Williams, his rise to stardom and his fall. Jason will perform many Hank Williams’ hits, such as “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry”, “Your Cheating Heart”, “Lovesick Blues”, “Cold, Cold Heart” and many more. Backed by an authentic four-piece band, he will pay tribute to stars that influenced Hank and his music and the stars that were later influenced by Hank Williams.

On April 13th the Pastime Theatre will welcome blues legend Tinsley Ellis. Tinsley Ellis, southern blues/rock guitar wizard, vocalist and songwriter, is a bona fide worldwide guitar hero. He has performed in all 50 states as well as in Canada, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia and South America, earning legions of fans with his guitar virtuosity, passionate vocals and memorable original songs. Whether playing deep, slow blues or up temp rockers, Ellis rides a gorgeously fat, pure tone. He has shared the stage with Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Allman Brothers, The Tedeschi Trucks Band, Widespread Panic and many others. This will be a show that any blues fan will enjoy.

Rocking the Pastime Theatre stage on May 18th will be Chi-Town Transit Authority, a Chicago Tribute Band. Chi-Town Transit Authority is a rocking seven-piece band created in the image of the original configuration of the rock group Chicago. Each band member authentically recreates the sound of the original members. They play a wide variety of Chicago’s play list, including big hits, the fan favorites, and the soulful and rocking deeper cuts found on their first few albums. Hear such hits as “25 or 6 To 4”, Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is”, “If You Leave Me Now”, “Saturday in the Park”, “I’m Just a Man”, “Inspiration” and many more.

Wrapping up the 2019 Concert Series on June 15th will be the contemporary Christian group Consumed By Fire. The brother trio, made up of Caleb, Josh and Jordan Ward, started in 2010 and is musically inventive Southern pop/rock band that combines their church roots with an eclectic array of influences distilled into a sound that is uniquely their own. Growing up, when they weren’t leading worship at church, they were singing songs from Creedence, Bob Segar or The Eagles with their large musical family. They soon found their calling and Consumed By Fire was born. This would be a wonderful concert for large church and youth groups.

“We are very excited about our concert series this year. As you may notice, we are starting the concert series later this year. It’s a very diverse lineup, but one we think can be enjoyed by all music lovers. It’s always our goal to offer quality artists and bring different types of music to our rural area. We try to keep the tickets affordable, so that people of all ages can enjoy a full concert experience close to home. The Pastime Theatre is a great venue for a concert. It offers a very intimate setting to enjoy a concert, where every seat allows you to feel close to the artist. We offer state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, like you find in much larger venues. Another unique feature is the one-on-one time with the artists after the shows for the concert goers. The artists set up merchandise tables and are available for autographs and pictures,” explained Mary Hyche, Pastime Theatre chairman.

Before the Jason Petty and Chi-Town Transit Authority concerts on evenings of March 9th and May 18th, the Pastime Theatre will be serving dinner. Dinners are limited and require a reservation. Dinners are available for $20.00 per person, which includes dinner, drink, dessert and tip. As an added benefit, all dinner guests will be the first to enter the theatre for the best seats. Dinner and a concert makes for a really entertaining night out.
